Frasier kitty went in for his radioiodine treatment today (it was postponed due to wimpy cat sitter afraid to clean up radioactive poop). The doctor found his thyroid and said it was huge (actually he had me feel it and it really was quite large but how would I know how big a thyroid should be). However, his T4 levels (whatever those are) are somewhat low so the doctor was a bit confused as to how to treat him. He decided to treat him based on the size of the thyroid which means Frasier got a big dose and will probably have to stay in much longer than expected while he "excretes" radiation. We might not see our stripey boy until Friday or Saturday and I am so sad. I miss him already. It might sound silly but the house seems empty without him. I think about him sitting alone in the cage at the treatment center (and I picture vets walking around in radiation protection suits ala Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future) and he probably thinks we've abadoned him. So sad. :( Let's hope this will be the end of his thyroid problem.

Aww, poor kitty. I hope that he gets better soon and he gets to come home!
Poor Fras...too bad we couldn't just take his thyroid out. Too bad he needs it. I hope he is okay. Can you call and find out from someone? He probably hates you right now being stuck there. He hates it he does.
